Self-Defence:
Defence Against Single (Parallel) Wrist Grab
Demonstrated by:
Master Siew Ying Loke, 4th Duan (Instructor at HQ and Rainham) and
Master Steve Ronketti, 4th Duan (Instructor at Dartford, Kent)

1.
The assailant (on the left) grabs left wrist with his right hand.
2.
Immediately move outwards to the left away from his centre line, turn left wrist outwards and be ready to defend against the assailant's other hand. These three actions must be performed simultaneously.
3.
Execute 'tau sou tang' knife hand block against the incoming left punch.
4.
Followed up by initial attack with the hand closest to his face, in this case short-range 'chang kern kong chee' (palm heel strike to the septum).
5.
Continue the counter attack with forward 'sou chuor kong chee' elbow attack and ...
6.
.... 'chean chi kai ti' front knee attack.
7.
Snap free from the wrist grip, which should be much weaker or released after the counter attacks. Retreat backwards and re-assess the situation.
Remember:
Constantly maintain eye focus when counter attacking with speed, power, proper technique and 'harn' shout fiercely in a continuous flow of well-trained techniques.
