Masters and Senior Grades observe

The first of the two courses to be held this year for Referee and Judges Training took place on Sunday 24th April 2005 at National Headquarters, Grays, Essex.

The courses are held in preparation for the National Championships taking place on 25th June this year.

Referee and Judges Training is open to 1st Duans and 1st Ji red belts.

Adults from 1st Duan are eligible for referee and judges duties.

Red belts and Duan grades under the age of 18 years can assist as Officials.

SomeJi grades are also welcome at these sessions as sparring practice is necessary.

The second and final Referee and Judges Training course is to be held at National Headquarters, Cromwell Road, Grays, Essex on

Sunday 29th May ... Duan grades and red belts please do your best to attend (especially if you have not been present at the April course) - contact National Headquarters to advise if you have not already returned your reply slip - thank you.

review Referees performance

A ring was set up in the centre of the hall to accommodate the sparring practice.

Referees had the opportunity to practice their control and scoring calculations. Judges who had performed these duties previously and those judging for the first time all took turns in practicing their skills supervised by Grandmaster Loke and his panel of Masters.
