The
afternoon continued with a presentation by Mr Robert Hooper outlining
the system for determining the order of the tooi ta (free fighting)
bout participants. This was accompanied by an explanation of how officials
should complete the required documentation.
Our
thanks to Mr Hooper for a very professional and comprehensive presentation.
Grandmaster
Loke also took questions from the floor to further clarify the tooi
ta bout system

The
afternoon continued with practical tests and examples to give all attendees
an opportunity to practice their refereeing/judging skills and for red
belts to further familiarise themselves with the competition scoring
system.

A

Duan attendees took turns at practicing their judging skills.

The
afternoon's practice bouts were analysed by Grandmaster Loke and Senior
Masters who gave attendees guidance and clarification on the correct
application of techniques and accepted practice.
Junior
red belts (seated next to Master Susan Merrell) gained a valuable opportunity
to control the scoring cards and timing of the bouts.
