On Sunday 28th March 3rd Duans and Masters met at National Headquarters, Grays, Essex, United Kingdom, to attend our Founder Grandmaster Loke's 'Masters Meeting'.

After some combinations and running through some of the Luohan forms (higher Duan level forms), Grandmaster Loke was pleased to introduce those present to the new Luohan form five which will be taught to those of 3rd Duan level and above.

hands before the strike

The new Luohan form five incorporates the fung yan kong chee (phoenix eye single knuckle attack), the 'beak hand' strike (striking with the top side of the back of the hand), flowing palm heel movements, a more fluid 'running stance' and four corners directional movement.

Everyone present really enjoyed and appreciated the new form and felt that it was a perfect expression of 'our Chinese heart' (Zhong Guo Xin) and Sino Chinese spirit.

The introduction of the new form (which incidentally comes soon after the new slow kicking form introduced earlier this year) reminds us that the art of Tang Sou Dao continues to grow and develop; it is a living skill and art form. Therefore it is up to us as practitioners to always endeavour to do our best, to strive to achieve as close to perfection as we can in order to pass this hard-earned skill and knowledge to the next generation of students.

As Grandmaster Loke said to us repeatedly on Sunday ...
"OK, but let's do it one more time!"

Incidentally, we take this opportunity to wish Grandmaster Loke a very happy birthday which took place in March and we are proud to celebrate the birth of our Founder (even if he kept it VERY quiet from us!).
