by
Master Tina Matania (4th Duan)
On
Sunday 7th September 2010 Duan grades and Masters assembled at National
Headquarters, Grays, Essex to attend Grandmaster Loke's annual Instructors
Coaching Course.
Those
present were current instructors and Duan grades (1st, 2nd and 3rd Duan)
who are interested in teaching the art of Tang Sou Dao. The course is
a compulsory component of the curriculum for those who are currently
performing a teaching role.

Master John Brinda (5th Duan), newly appointed Instructor
for Bristol with Grandmaster Loke
Attendees
travelled from Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Berkshire, Bristol, London and
Essex. You may notice from the photographs that some of them were not
wearing their suit tops ..... this is because a number of belts were
being prepared by Mrs Loke to add a new system of identification to
the duan belts. White ribbons (bars) have now been added to the ends
of the belt. One bar signifies the level of 1st Duan, two bars 2nd Duan
and three bars 3rd Duan. The red stripe in the centre of the belt identifies
individuals who have attained the level of Master.

in Penang, Malaysia just after taking his GCSEs. He also shared some
interesting stories regarding his early teaching career in the UK.

Everyone
had an opportunity to ask questions during the day, for example about
safety, communication and teaching children. Grandmaster Loke then moved
on to some additional technical analysis.
