Reading Club Update

Reading Club Instructors Mr Korel Gokcezade and Mr Nazim Gokcezade

The Reading Club has been a growing success since it was first established in 1995 and managed initially by myself, daughter Tanya and son Korel who at the time were all 2nd degree black belts.

I remember the first lesson, we had one student and there were three 2nd degree black belts to help him train. (Never mind about one to one training, this was three to one). We have grown to over ninety students to date.

For the past five years I have been running the club with my son Korel. We run the club by maintaining a close family feel with our students, whilst keeping a balance on discipline.

and Cheang Sou Kong Chee (spear hand attack)

Our classes consist of 30-40 students every training session who train up to 6 hours a week. We are very proud of our students as they show great enthusiasm and dedication and have shown a great sense of achievement in Championships and gradings.

Wai Chuai Ti - drop kick

The lessons begin with a long warm-up which gives the students a chance to control their bodies and minds in preparation for the rest of the hard and demanding session.

There is a fantastic atmosphere in the lessons and the higher grades work really hard to help out in training the younger, less experienced students.

The Future - young students

My children and I took the decision four years ago to change to Ren Yi Wu Kwan and I take this opportunity to thank my previous Master for all his help. Changing to a different federation is a very worrying move, one can not help thinking if the right decision was made. This move would not only affect my children and myself but all my students.

There was no need to worry, I went to see Grandmaster Loke with my children and we were made very welcome. We have made some very good friends and I always look forward to seeing them on Championships, lessons and couching courses.

Chean Chuai Ti - front thrust kick

On behalf of the Reading Club I would like to thank Grandmaster Loke, Mrs Loke the Masters and all at REN YI WU KWAN for making us a part of the "martial arts family". "MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL".
