KIDS DRAWING COMPETITION

TO CELEBRATE CHINESE NEW YEAR 2005

In the Western calendar we celebrate the New Year on 1st January, however, in China the New Year starts in February.

In 2005, the first day of the Chinese New Year will be
9th February and it will be ..... Year of the ROOSTER.

As part of Chinese New Year celebrations this year we will be running a drawing competition ......

So, if you are under 16 years of age and enjoy drawing here's what you have to do ............

Draw a picture which is A4 size (a normal sheet of paper) or smaller which depicts the Chinese New Year this year - Year of the Rooster.

Try to make your drawing colourful - you might like to include some traditional Chinese new year features in the picture - for example, fireworks, lanterns, oranges, food, decorations, and of course, the Rooster.

Your drawing should be sent to Grandmaster Loke at National Headquarters -
addressed as follows:

On the back of your picture, please write clearly in block capitals:
your name
your club / instructor
your age
the title of your picture

The 'winning three' (1st, 2nd and 3rd) drawings will be chosen by Grandmaster Loke and Senior Masters during February 2004.
There will be a prize of some drawing materials for the winner and a little prize for the first and second runners-up.

Pictures will be displayed at National Headquarters during Feburary and selected pictures will be displayed on the website with your name next to your picture.
