Sou Dao Duan Grading Congratulations Letter
from Founder Grandmaster Loke, 2011
I
write to congratulate you on your recent duan promotion at our HQ in
Grays, Essex. Most of you will regard the Duan test as the highlight
of your many years of regular weekly training in your wu kwan.
The
Duan syllabus that I have created (in 1993) is to challenge you and
bring out the best in you individually, both in your mental strength
and technical ability. As individuals, we are different, in our age,
gender, build, flexibility, natural ability and physical strength. So,
from now on, each of you will develop in your own way in the preference
of techniques to build upon.
Continue
to practise regularly to hone your skills with greater precision. This
is to ensure effectiveness if the need arises, and you must be able
to endure tougher and longer training coupled with more self-control,
in your journey to maintain the Martial Art Way- 'Wu Dao'. All juniors,
both Shi Di and Shi Mei, look up to you as role models. The Way is then
clear for you to take up your role as instructors to help inculcate
the proper 'wu dao' to future generations. Senior Instructors and Duan
students form the strong roots and branches of our growing Ren Yi Wu
Kwan family tree.
The
general level of skill and effort I have observed in the duan gradings
is generally good. A few are simply excellent, especially those that
have attended classes two or more times weekly. Some of your written
essays are superb (certainly worthy of publication), even among the
Under-16 and you can read these in the technical articles section of
our website by clicking
here.
