I can remember
the first time my father showed me a martial arts film at an early
age. After watching it I had said, "Wow Dad, I want to do that!"
The movement
and skill of the martial artist, what they could do with their hands,
arms, legs and feet amazed me. When I came across Tang Sou Dao I was
more than eager to try it out.
I joined in
1995 and working steadily to improve my skill and technique. Now by
teaching I wish to share my knowledge with others on how Tang Sou
Dao can benefit students both physically and mentally, in and out
of the class.
I have certainly
benefited from my Tang Sou Dao training in both these ways. It has
helped me to become fit, strong and flexible. It has taught me to
be relaxed but focused, not just in class but in every day life. Tang
Sou Dao has allowed me to move and co-ordinate with confidence and
balance by the skilful application of hand and foot techniques.
Through the
years of regular training, Tang Sou Dao has improved my mental concentration
and self-confidence. It has helped me to become disciplined both in
and out of the class and it has taught me self-control.
I hope that
Tang Sou Dao can do for others what it has done for me.
