With the standard
improving year after year, which is a testament to Grandmaster Loke
and the development of Tang Sou Dao, I knew this year was going to
be a tough Championship for my students and I.
Most of my
students are no longer at the beginner stage of their training and
the competition at Championships and regular practice becomes more
intense as your grade gets higher. This goes without saying but the
willingness to try harder, improve your technique and learning from
your mistakes must come from within. But most of all they must enjoy
what they are doing.
The students
showed all these attributes as they left this tiring day with the
same gleaming smile that they arrived with because they gave it their
best on the day regardless of the result. That is all you can ask
of them and I feel very proud.

20 competitors from Croydon and we came back with 15 medals:
